Trafford & Hulme CAMRA currently organise the Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival in conjunction with St Clement's Church, Chorlton
The festival offers visitors the opportunity to sample a much wider selection of real ales than you could do at even the best pub. All Trafford & Hulme festivals also feature a range of traditional cider & perries.
The eight Greater Manchester branches of CAMRA join together to organise the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival, the innaugaural festival being arranged for January 2014 at the iconic Manchester Velodrome at the National Cycling Centre.
In addition, many members of the branch volunteer at other CAMRA festivals including the The Great British Beer Festival.
All CAMRA festivals rely on the efforts of CAMRA volunteers to run. Volunteering to work at beer festivals is great fun and an excellent way to make new friends.
The 7th Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival once again saw drinkers descend on St Clements Church in their thousands, drinking the festival dry 45 minutes before planned closing on Saturday night.
Organisers ordered 20% more beer, cider & perry than in 2010 but even torrential rain on opening night, Friday 8th July, could not drive the Chorlton community away. Over 3000 pints of ale & 800 of traditional cider & perry were sold on Friday alone, at a rate of almost 15 pints a minute.
Visitors had the choice of 40 locally brewed beers from the CAMRA LocAle bar plus a further 22 sourced from outside of the local area on the second bar opposite. The LocAle selection included festival specials "Clement Summer" from Macclesfield's Bollington Brewery and "STout CLEMENT", brewed by the Bootleg Brewing Company just 200m down St Clements Road at The Horse & Jockey pub.
After last year's sell out, this year's Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival will have 20% more cask ale than last year.
These will be split over two bars. The LocAle bar will feature beers from local breweries, while the "FarAle" bar will feature some of the best breweries from the 700 in the rest of the UK. For the first time at Chorlton, some beers will be served via handpump, with the rest served by gravity.
The list of beers delivered to the festival is given below.
We cannot guarantee the availability of any particular beer at any given time.
Here's the provisional list of cider & perries for this year's festival.

The 6th Chorlton Beer Festival
This year over 50 real ales will be available to sample along with a collection of at least 30 traditional ciders.
On Saturday afternoon (until 7.00pm) children are welcome and receive free entry. A range of bands will be playing live music throughout the festival and even pouring rain has failed to dampen the spirits in previous years.
The Chorlton Beer Festival is run by St Clement's Church Chorlton in keeping with the church's desire to become an integral part of Chorlton life. The beer festival is organised and run by members of the church with the aid of Trafford and Hulmel Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branch.
The Festival has its own website http://chorltonbeerfestival.org.uk/
Following the success of the previous three year’s festivals, St Clements Church have enrolled Trafford and Hulme Branch of CAMRA to ensure the quality and range of the beers continue to develop. Although T&H have been instrumental in organising, managing and serving the beer for the previous festivals, this is the first time that the relationship has become official, meaning that the event has now hit the CAMRA diary.

The 15th Chorlton Beer and Cider Festival will be held on 11th - 13th July 2019 at St Clement's Church on Edge Lane in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
Run in conjunction with St Clements, the festival began in 2005 to raise funds for the repair of the church buildings, but has grown to become a firm fixture in the Chorlton social calendar and the branch's premier festival. The festival continues to raise funds for the upkeep of the church complex which offers a wide range of meeting places serving the Chorlton community.
The festival takes place in the buildings and grounds of the Church. 2019 will see the festival focus on local breweries and community events. Expect 60+ beer plus one of Manchester's largest cider & perry bars with over 50 traditional ciders & perries.
There's live music in the grounds and a range of quality street food available at each session.
