The Goverment has announced changes to the Small Brewery Relief Scheme which could drasticly reduce the choice of beer available.

Welcome to the new section for young members, I'm Mark Reeves and I'm the branch Young Members' contact.

I'll be posting items of interest here and information on socials for young members.

By young members we generally mean 18-30 but in almost all cases anything we organise would be open to all members.

We're hoping to organise some trips to new local bars and breweries and to try to link up with other young members in local CAMRA branches.

Somewhat short notice I know, there is a social for young members this weekend (27th February), organised by the Yorkshire CAMRA region. They are going to do the Transpennine Real Ale Trail starting at Stalybridge at 11.15:

Regional young members' social

It's not exclusively for young members, anyone can take part.

If your interest in beer goes beyond just drinking it we have a couple of local homebrew clubs (mostly run by and attended by younger homebrewers), one in our area at the Font in Chorlton (second Tuesday of the month, 8pm) and one at Cafe Beermoth (third Sunday of the month from 3pm). You'll generally find me (with some of my beers) at the Font.

Find them both on Twitter @chorltonbrewers @mancshomebrew
