CAMRA Celebrating 40 years of campaigningOn 16th March 2011, the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) will be 40 years old. CAMRA branches across the country will be marking CAMRA's 40 years of campaigning with a series of events throughout the anniversary year.

Trafford & Hulme Branch will begin their celebrations with a gathering for members old & new on the eve of the anniversary - Tuesday 15th March (details below).

Beer (and cider) drinkers from across the country will then be able to join the branch to toast CAMRA's achievements when the branch welcomes the public to a new beer festival at a unique city centre location.

40th Anniversary Gathering

CAMRA members from across the area are invited to help Trafford & Hulme see in CAMRA's 40th anniversary year at Altrincham's Old Market Tavern on Tuesday 15th March (from 8pm).

The perrenial Good Beer Guide listed pub has been the spiritual home of Trafford & Hulme branch for many years. Although we now have a wide variety of excellent pubs to choose from, with 11 real ales available at all times plus real cider & perry, we couldn't think of a better place to mark this momentus occassion.

Members who have never attended a branch event are encouraged to come along & join us on an evening that will celebrate the successes CAMRA has achieved over the years - most significantly the explosion in availability, choice & quality of real ales available. John & the team at the OMT (as the pub is known) will undoubtedly have a great selection of ales available for us to sample and a small buffet will be available.

Even if you're not a member - come along and sign up on the night!

The Old Market Tavern is on Old Market Place, Altrincham WA14 4DN just off the A56 Church Street and a short walk from Altrincham Interchange (walk up Stamford Street then Victoria Street).

MOSI Real Ale Festival

Trafford & Hulme CAMRA and the Museum Of Science & Industry (MOSI), Manchester are pleased to confirm a new real ale festival to be held within in Mancheser City Centre.

ImageThe venue will be the splendour of MOSI's Power Hall. The inaugoral festival will run from 6pm on Friday 25th March 2011 to 10.30pm on Saturday the 26th.

As well as sampling excellent real ale, ciders & perries, visitors will be able to wander amongst the museum's collection of railway locomotives, rolling stock and oil, gas, air & steam powered engines. Funds from the festival will support the museum's appeal to rennovate the Power Hall's steam boilers and bring the collection of steam engines back to life.
