On Thursday 21st April, Trafford & Hulme branch descended on Chorlton's Oddest to present the Pub Of The Season Award for Spring 2011. It truly was Spring as sunshine spread across Chorlton on the eve of Good Friday, bringing out the locals to fill the bar and it's outside seating area to capacity.
Local MP John Leech was in attendance, along with local councillor Paul Ankers. Oddest is actually John Leech's local pub when at his Chorlton home, and he revealed that he's actually celebrated his 39th birthday at Oddest with friends.
After a slightly late start to proceedings due to the sheer number of people attending, branch chair Bev Gobbett opened the presentation ceremony before handing over to local member & Oddest regular Heather Airlie. Heather spoke of the buzz that the news of an Odd bar coming to Chorlton had created when first announced, but that we did not dream that Oddest would arrive with a portfolio of four real ales and that in only a year, this would be expanded to six. Combined with a firm commitment to real cider and perry, Oddest had quickly established itself on CAMRA's map. The award certificates were then presented to Oddest manager Nichola Clark.

Nichola herself thanked her assistant manager Katy and the rest of her team. She also thanked the local CAMRA members who have supported and provided feedback on her ale selection and quality before finally dedicating the award to her many regular customers who have taken Oddest to their hearts.
