The Knott does it again !

Trafford & Hulme branch have voted The Knott, Deansgate back in as our Pub of the Year for 2010 and the Club of the Year award goes to Timperley Taverners.

The Knott narrowly got through by just one point with joint second going to the Old Market Tavern in Altrincham and Electrick in Chorlton.  After the branch meeting we all decamped to the Knott to tell Scott of his great news.  At first he was silent and in disbelief but then he realised the brilliant achievement that both he and all his staff have done.  Everyone was really pleased for them all, even some locals managed to hear over the crowds and gave their Congratulations to the deserved winners.  The presentation will be on Wednesday 19th May and I am sure that once OZ has been informed of the victory he will be cooking us up some delights to celebrate with.

For the first time the branch also voted in a Club of the Year and our run away winner was the Timperley Taverners on Park Road in Timperley, just near the Metrolink station.  This is a private members club but they will allow any current CAMRA member in providing they are carrying their membership card.  They also are taking part in the Mild Magic again this year so everyone will get a chance to see inside this vibrant local community club.  The presentation will take place on Thursday 24th June and Jayne promised me some of her famous Cheese and Onion pie to go with the beers.
