In Timperley. The Gardners Arms has recently closed, and looks unlikely to re-open in the short term. The Stone Masons is also closed, but Altrincham Today reports it is to be taken over by the landlord of the Firbank Pub & Kitchen, Wythenshawe who hopes to re-open it late August.
A planning request to change the Bay Malton, Oldfield Brow into residentional property has been submitted. T&H Camra and the local residents group have sumitted objections.
In Altrincham the Belgian Bar has stopped selling real ale on hand pump. The Barrington has been undergoing internal and external refurbishment. The signs have been replaced but no indication of if or when it will re-open as a Pub
Pub tours of Altrincham designed by John Schofield are to commence in July at £10 a head
The Fox and Hounds in Flixton has new management, it is reported that they have experience of running a pub at the Fox and Goose in Manchester.
The Chadwick and Imbibe in Urmston are both still shut, and the Assembly also of Urmston has no Cask yet.
The Beech in Chorlton Green appears to be serving a lot of Timothy Taylors beers at the expense of guests.
Cask and Kiln in Chorlton are offering a 20% discount on ales, ‘half and half’ nights are rumoured to be happening in the future.
The Windmill Inn, Carrington is also closed an boarded-up.

The pubs in Sale West and Ashton on Mersey are once again accessible by Public Transport in the evening. From the 8th April the 245 Altrincham - Sale - Stretford - Flixton - Davyhulme - intu Trafford Centre service has been re-routed to run via Ashton on Mersey meaning that the following real ale pubs are now easily accessible by public transport.
On Mondays to Saturday there is a 30 minute service through the day and early evenings, then every hour with last bus back to Altrincham departing from Ashton on Mersey at 11:15, and in the reverse direction towards the Trafford Centre being slightly earlier at 22:51 but still late enough for an enjoyable drink and meal.

On Saturday the 2nd December 2017 the Quarry Bank, Timperley was seriously damaged by a fire. According to "Altrincham Today" fire crews arrivde at 4.45 PM and were still there at 7.45PM. The pub reopened for business the following day, with parts of the lounge cordoned off. Its not clear at present what effect this will have on the opening hours or serivces available..
The Stonemasons Arms , Timperley, will reopen on Saturday 2nd December. Whilst it will major on the food offer Real Ale will be available featuring initially a selection from Brightside along with something from Greene King who still own the building....
Barry, the Landord of the Belgium Bar has contacted Trafford & Hulme Camra to say that Real Ale is now on offer again and there should be two handpumps operating from this week. If this is successfull he has promised to add more. In addition the range of UK "Craft" beers has been expanded.
He has also informed us that a discount will be available to CAMRA members.
